Sakura Festival Saturday April 15, 2017 Free and Open to the Public Kerrisdale Community Centre 604-257-8100 PROGRAM 10:00am - 12:30pm Kerrisdale Sakura Tree Tours Come dressed for the variable Spring weather. Meet Robin Clark, a professional forester, for sakura tree history and identification at the KCC main entrance at 10am. We'll return to the Senior Centre South Room at 11:30 to share tea and discuss the experience for one hour. 2:00pm -3:30 pm Taiko Drumming Workshop Come experience Taiko drumming guided by Tetsu Taiko drummer, Doug Masuhara. You will learn about the history of Taiko and various playing styles, choreography, and traditional Taiko pieces. Come feel the Taiko spirit! Capacity: max 30 for and age 6 and older @ Seniors Multi-purpose room 4:00pm - 6:30pm Film Screening "From Up on Poppy Hill" (92 min), a 2011 Japanese animated drama film directed by Gorō Miyazaki and produced by Studio Ghibli. Curated by Pia Massie, a local filmmaker. Content is suitable for all ages. Light refreshments will be served. @ Seniors Multi-purpose roomSaturday April 15, 2017
